CSX at Point of Rocks DVD

Historic Point of Rocks, Maryland, 65 miles west of Baltimore and 43 miles northwest of Washington, D. C. by rail, is one of the most historic rail junctions in this country.  Here, the Baltimore and Ohio's original main line from Baltimore, joins up with the B&O line from Washington.  This CSX line from Baltimore is now appropriately named the Old Main Line Subdivision.  The Old Main Line sub meets the Metropolitan Sub from Washington in front of the equally historic Point of Rocks station.  This program shows over twenty fours hours of CSX, Amtrak, and Maryland Rail Commuter or Marc train action at and around Point of Rocks in April of 2005.  130 minutes.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

UP's ex-MP & SP Arkansas Mains

In early 1998 Union Pacific converted its former MP and SP main lines through Arkansas to directional running.  The ex-Cotton Belt main handled southbounds between the upper Midwest and Texas, while the ex-MP main handled mostly northbounds.  BNSF trains run on these lines - a condition of the UP-SP merger.  This program shows 24 hours of action on each of these lines in October 2004.  All kinds of leased, borrowed, and run-through power is on these trains.  There are few lines in the country that handle more chemicals, plastic pellets, autos, and auto parts than UP's Arkansas mains.  1 tape/2 DVD set.  2 hours, 18 minutes.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

I am still recovering from my second knee replacement in April.  The recovery is going well but seems to be going more slowly than the first knee last summer.  My wife is still an invalid.  At this time, she is not walking and using a wheelchair.  She is still getting physical therapy so there is some hope for her to gain mobility in the future.  I would still like to do more videotaping but this is looking less and less likely.  Things could be a lot worse – no life-threatening issues that we know of for any of us.  I still plan on selling existing DVDs for another year or two as long as customers still want them.  We won’t make much if any money on them anymore but fortunately we don’t need to.  Still enjoying the grandkids – a freshman granddaughter in Illinois was a starter on the basketball team last winter and she will be playing volleyball this fall.  I hope to be able to get out there this fall to see her play and her brother play football.  The great grandkids are starting to arrive.  A great grandson was born in Illinois in March and we also have a step great grandson.  Three granddaughters are engaged and one of them is pregnant.  We hope that all of you are safe and sound.  Our next newsletter will be in December of 2025.
