Canadian National's Saskatchewan Main DVD

This video shows 24 hours of fascinating action in October of 2003 west of Melville, Saskatchewan on CN's superbly engineered Watrous Sub.  Two years ago CN began lengthening some of the sidings on this line and today CN runs some of the longest freight trains on this continent.  This track is part of CN's transcontinental main line that is traversed by an increasing number of containers and tonnage and by CN's new "Need for Speed" trains.  If you like to see long trains thundering across the Canadian prairie at speeds of 55 per or more this program is for you.  67 minutes.

Canadian Pacific's Saskatchewan Main

Canadian Pacific's main line west of Moose Jaw through Saskatchewan is busier today than anytime since World War II and carries the most tonnage in its long history. Just east of Moose Jaw CP's rapidly growing business from Chicago via the former Soo Line joins the transcontinental main line. Pushed by improvements in productivity made by rival Canadian National, Canadian Pacific has fought back by adding hundreds of new alternating current diesels, new higher capacity cars, and longer trains with distributed power. All of this is showcased on CP's main line across the Saskatchewan prairie. This line handles all of CP's transcontinental traffic between eastern and western Canada and the rapidly growing transcontinental business to and from the States. This DVD shows over twenty-four hours of action on CP's Saskatchewan Main between Moose Jaw and Swift Current in October of 2003. Canadian Pacific's Saskatchewan Main is two hours and three minutes in length.

NS Bement to Decatur - Heart of the Former Wabash

The 20 miles of double track between Bement and Decatur in central Illinois was the busiest section of track on the former Wabash.  At Bement the line from Chicago joined the line from Detroit.  Just west of Decatur the lines to St. Louis and Kansas City went their separate ways.  Today this funnel has twice the number of freight trains that it had during Wabash days and is a part of NS's busy automotive artery from Detroit to St. Louis and Kansas City.  This video shows over 24 hours of action on Norfolk Southern's Lafayette district between Bement and Decatur in May of 2003.  98 minutes.

I am still recovering from my second knee replacement in April.  The recovery is going well but seems to be going more slowly than the first knee last summer.  My wife is still an invalid.  At this time, she is not walking and using a wheelchair.  She is still getting physical therapy so there is some hope for her to gain mobility in the future.  I would still like to do more videotaping but this is looking less and less likely.  Things could be a lot worse – no life-threatening issues that we know of for any of us.  I still plan on selling existing DVDs for another year or two as long as customers still want them.  We won’t make much if any money on them anymore but fortunately we don’t need to.  Still enjoying the grandkids – a freshman granddaughter in Illinois was a starter on the basketball team last winter and she will be playing volleyball this fall.  I hope to be able to get out there this fall to see her play and her brother play football.  The great grandkids are starting to arrive.  A great grandson was born in Illinois in March and we also have a step great grandson.  Three granddaughters are engaged and one of them is pregnant.  We hope that all of you are safe and sound.  Our next newsletter will be in December of 2025.

No other train video producer shows and explains railroading like we do and our catalogue includes programs on fallen flags ATSF, SP, BN, CNW, IC, Wisconsin Central, and Conrail.  We almost always show the whole train and most of our videos show all of the action – day and night.  Our newest program is “PSR on CSX’s Chicago Line in Northern Indiana”, part of our look at PSR on eastern railroads.  This is our 49th program to be released in both Blu-ray and in regular DVD.  You need to specify what type of DVD you are ordering with programs available in both DVD and Blu-ray.  All of our DVD’s have chapters and menus and around half – everything videotaped from 2004 on plus a few programs from 2003 - have a choice of being watched with narration and without narration by using the menu or audio and language buttons on your DVD player controller.  321 programs are available in DVD (49 in Blu-ray) and all are listed in the flyers.  No other train video producer shows and explains railroading like we do and our catalogue includes programs on fallen flags ATSF, BN, SP, CNW. IC, Wisconsin Central, and Conrail.  Our shipping and handling charge on orders remains $5.00 with no charge on orders over $100.  We offer year-round discounts on large orders.  See flyers for details.  These discounts are available only by mail and phone.  If you have questions and get our answering machine, please leave your name and number and we will call you back as soon as possible.  You can reach us by email at bigeee@trainvideos.com or on our webpage at www.trainvideos.com.
